An obstetrician/gynecologist, also known as an Obgyn, is a medical doctor who specializes in female reproductive health. These medical professionals understand how to treat issues dealing with pregnancy and female sexuality. If you are a female who is over the age of 21, it's recommended that you have a complete pelvic exam performed at least once per year. However, there may be other issues that arise between visits, making it necessary for you to see your Obgyn on a more frequent basis. If you notice any of the following symptoms, it may be time for you to make an appointment with your Obgyn right away.
Sex Is Painful For You
Having sexual relations with your partner should be a pleasurable experience. However, some women experience pain in their pelvic region during sex that turns something that should be wonderful into something that they may look forward to with dread.
If you begin to notice that the sexual act has become painful for you, get to an Obgyn immediately. The problem could be due to any number of issues, such as fibroids, an infection or vaginal dryness. Your Obgyn can conduct a thorough analysis so that they can treat the underlying problems and you can begin enjoying sex again.
Incontinence can be a frustrating and embarrassing experience that makes you feel alone. The inability to contain your urine until you are in a bathroom is very difficult to live with, and can cause you to become sheltered so that other people do not find out.
Rather than trying to deal with the problem on your own, discuss your incontinence issues with your Obgyn. Your incontinence could be due to a relatively common issue, such as weakness of your pelvic floor. Your doctor may be able to prescribe treatment that restores your ability to urinate on command so that you won't have to use pads or other devices to stay dry.
If you begin missing periods, it's important for you to make your Obgyn aware of this. Missed periods could be due to a hormonal imbalance, or could indicate that you are pregnant. If you are pregnant, it's even more vital that you begin receiving treatment from an Obgyn for the health of your child.
In addition to missed periods, you should report irregularities to your Obgyn. Unusually heavy or light flows could point to another health condition that should be treated without haste.
Paying careful attention to the signals that your body sends you is the key to staying in excellent health. If you notice any of the above mentioned symptoms, seek treatment immediately by visiting your Obgyn.Share
